What is Sugaring?

Sugaring is a natural form of hair removal dated back to the Ancient Egyptians. Using a paste consisting of only sugar, water & lemon juice it is applied against the hair growth and removed gently with the direction of hair growth. Thanks to limited ingredients and gentle application, this form of hair removal is gentle, long lasting and great for sensitive skin!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The hair typically needs to be about ¼ inch long (grain of rice) to successfully be extracted from the root with the sugar. Hair growth cycles may vary at the time of your appointment which can affect smoothness. Your service provider will explain based on evaluation of the area.

    1. Stay hydrated

    2. Gentle, physical exfoliation with either a dry brush or scrub.

    3. Hydrate the area the night before with a lotion or oil. (DO NOT oil the area right before your appointment as it will compromise the sugar)

    4. Drink lots of water and stay away from caffeine.

    5. Taking tylenol can help with any inflammation but usually doesnt do much for pain

  • The overall consensus is that YES sugaring hurts less than waxing but I never say that with full 100% truth because everyone is different. With that said, most find it less painful because its so gentle on the skin being sugar, water, and lemon as the only ingredients. It does not take off live skin cells, only dead and leaves the skin much less red/inflamed post removal. 

  • Based on your comfortability, you may absolutely still get sugared on your cycle (MUST have a tampon in). With that said if you know youre going to be on your cycle, dont want to be sugared at that time, please schedule/reschedule your appointment within our cancellation policy guidelines.
